Summary:The PayPal Merchant Offers team, part of the Promotions
Rewarding platform, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager
to lead the expansion of our merchant interfaces and tools. We are
looking for a hands-on, employee-focused leader who excels in
coordinating project deliveries and fostering collaboration across
teams and management. This exciting management role offers the
opportunity to make a significant impact on our business goals and
drive innovation in our merchant offerings.Job Description:Your way
to impactIn this role, the individual will be part of the Merchant
Offers Engineering team and will be:
- Responsible to deliver new features and improvements to enhance
the customer experience at scale by providing the products with
Quality, Reliability, and scale.
- Involved in the day-to-day development & support team.
- Fostering continuous learning and improving the tech stack to
address functional and non-functional requests.
- Collaborating with Architects and cross-functional teams to
drive the vision laid out by product.
- Able to understand, triage, and guide teams in addressing
issues with less impact.
- Mentoring engineers by providing guidance in each step of their
career.
- Managing 1 or 2 scrum teams and being responsible for the
delivery.
- Interfacing with Professional Services and Business Units
directly with partners as part of launch and integration
support.What do you need to bring:
- You have a Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Mathematics or related area.
- You have more than 8 years of experience in software design,
development, and architecture.
- You have led a team of at least 8 engineers for more than 3
years.
- You have applied software quality tools and processes
successfully for your teams.
- You have delivered projects using agile methodologies.
- You have designed and implemented high-traffic front or backend
services.
- You have worked in projects using SQL and NoSQL solutions.
- You have good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Very strong verbal and written communication and stakeholder
management skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks
simultaneously.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new technologies and adapt
quickly.
- You have coached engineers, advocated good coding practices,
process adherence, and continuous improvement in these areas.
- You have been in a project requiring you to effectively
collaborate with remote teams across geographies and time
zones.
- You have preferably worked in the ad-tech or offers-like
