The role will involve ensuring the implementation of best practices in both product management and engineering, fostering a culture of innovation, and leveraging emerging technologies such as AI to drive our strategic initiatives. You will work closely with senior managers, key stakeholders, executives, and investors to shape and execute our long-term vision and strategy.THE DAY-TO-DAY

• Oversee the product and engineering teams, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering a high-performance culture.
• Provide strategic direction and leadership to senior managers, ensuring cohesive and effective teamwork across departments.
• Develop and implement best practices in product management and engineering processes.
• Define and execute the product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
• Drive innovation in product development, leveraging AI and other emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the insurtech space.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of product and engineering efforts.
• Present product and engineering strategies, progress, and outcomes to the executive team and investors, ensuring transparency and alignment.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and measure success in product development and engineering.
• Ensure the engineering team adheres to industry standards and best practices, including agile methodologies, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Implement robust quality assurance processes to deliver high-quality products.
• Recruit, develop, and retain top talent in product management and engineering.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the teams.WHAT MAKES YOU QUALIFIED
• Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing product and engineering teams, experience in the insurtech or fintech industry is a plus!
• Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience with the following technologies:

• Python / Flask
• JavaScript / TypeScript
• PostgreSQL
• Vue.js, React, React Native
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Google Cloud Functions, Google Cloud Run, AWS
• Netlify
• Demonstrated experience working with key stakeholders, executives, and investors to drive strategic initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of AI and other emerging technologies, with a track record of integrating these into product strategies.
• Experience with agile development methodologies and best practices in engineering and product management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under tight deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and contribute to a positive and collaborative culture.
• Proactive and solution-forward, bias for action.You will report to AKKO's Co-CEO/Co-Founder. The base salary for this position ranges from $175,000 to $240,000. Total compensation for this position is $275,000 or more.
