- Build datacenter software technologies and expertise to drive
Samsung memory technologies and innovations for use in public and
private clouds by leveraging the benefits of memory
innovations.
- As a key member of the Storage Software team, you will be
responsible for designing and developing software for a
state-of-the-art distributed storage system. As a storage IO path
developer, you will play a key role in the design, development and
optimization of the IO path within our distributed storage systems.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure
that our storage solutions deliver exceptional performance,
scalability and reliability.
- The successful candidate must be a strong team player, have
excellent communication skills and should have experience
developing Linux-based highly available distributed systems, with a
focus on performance and quality.Location: Hybrid, working onsite
at our San Jose office/headquarters 3 days per week with the
flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.Reports to:
Sr. Manager/Director, Software DevelopmentWhat You Bring
- BS/MS Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 10+
years of experience developing enterprise software solutions in
C/C++ on Linux or a MS in Computer/Electrical/Electronic
Engineering or Computer Science with 8+ years or PhD in engineering
or related Science with 5+ years of Industry Experience
preferred.
- Linux-based Platform evaluation, creation, configuration, and
maintenance in various HW and SW subsystems
- Developing, creating, and maintaining Linux-based bootable ISO
and PXE images
- Custom kernel configurations, builds, and maintenance
- Developing, integrating, and building third party and or custom
kernel modules
- Minimizing OS configuration and footprint
- SW packing methods and technologies
- Security - Understanding of vulnerabilities and minimizing
strategies, firewall, switch, router configurations
- Networking - Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, SNMP
- HW - BIOs, Loader, IPMI, BMC, UEFI
- Familiarity with ELK (Elasticsearch/Logstash/Kibana),
Collected
- Familiarity with managing VMs in public cloud and on-prem.What
