Summary:PayPal's SMB & Financial Services Business Unit serves
millions of small businesses and consumers globally. Within the SMB
business unit, we offer payments and business solutions (lending,
cards, etc.) for Solopreneurs up to businesses that have millions
in revenue. Within the consumer financial services business unit,
we provide credit, debit, and pay later products to millions of
consumers globally.The Senior Director of Business Operations
reports directly to the EVP and General Manager of the SMB &
Financial Services Group and leads a diverse set of priorities to
ensure effective business management. These priorities include:Job
Description:
- Support the Business Unit leaders in operating the business.
This would include creating clear cross-functional goals and
driving accountability across cross-functional teams through
efficient & effective operating mechanisms and reporting.
- Collaborate closely with data and finance teams to derive
insights into business performance and generate recommendations for
efficiency and growth. This includes managing the Business Insights
team.
- Cross-functional collaboration across the Group inclusive of
both business leads and functional partners, and coordination of
investment planning & prioritization for the business in
partnership with Finance, including alignment on submission for
monthly forecasting cycles.
- Own and drive critical cross-functional programs for the
business unit and drive process governance in product and
commercial areas to drive business outcomes.
- Management and prioritization of resource allocation process,
working with business leaders and CFO to identify and accurately
track material opportunities and risks and coordination of
budgeting processes.
- Leading key horizontal efforts that support business
performance, in partnership with relevant stakeholders, including
employee engagement and communications, workforce planning, and
organization design initiatives.
- Providing operational support to the business leaders (SVPs and
VPs) by owning all business unit review storyboards and decks,
streamlined reporting, business routines logistics & agenda
management, and various ad-hoc projects.
- Nurturing a culture that reflects our leadership principles and
champions diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging through actions
and outcomes.Qualifications:
- 15+ years of business planning and relevant experience in a
large-scale, heavily matrixed, high-growth global function or
business.
- Strong data and/or finance background.
- Deep expertise with business case development, and demonstrated
financial acumen focused on operational excellence in managing
budgets and forecasting.
- Proven effective collaborator with strong execution quotient,
operating in a fast-moving, matrixed, relationship-focused
environment.
- Data-driven and highly organized with superior project
management skills.
- Demonstrated learning agility and passion for taking on new
challenges and executing with high velocity.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, especially
with storyboarding and deck writing for diverse audiences ranging
from senior executives to broad-based employee groups.
- Global and domestic travel - Limited, as needed. Mostly
domestic.
