As a Staff Engineer, you will set a high technical bar, take ownership of key initiatives, and drive the development of impactful solutions from ideation to delivery. Your leadership and technical expertise will be critical in designing and implementing advanced mobile solutions that enhance flight safety and operational efficiency. • Mobile Application Development: Architect, build, and maintain advanced iOS applications for Murdock, ensuring high performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
• Technical Leadership: Set a high technical standard for the team. Mentor and guide team members, drive engineering best practices, and play a significant role in hiring and onboarding.
• Product Ownership: Take on specific product lines, milestones, or feature sets and drive them forward with ownership and minimal supervision, delivering high-impact solutions.
• Real-Time Data Integration: Implement real-time data streaming features to provide pilots with critical in-cockpit assistance, leveraging Beacon AI's robust backend infrastructure.
• User Experience Design: Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure the best possible user experience, focusing on intuitive and effective interfaces for pilots.
• API Integration: Design and integrate with internal and external APIs to fetch and display data efficiently and securely.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize application performance, particularly for real-time data and multimedia streaming.
• Automated Testing: Establish comprehensive testing strategies, leveraging frameworks like XCTest and Snapshot Testing to ensure code quality and stability.
• CI/CD Mastery: Own and enhance the CI/CD pipeline to enable seamless, efficient releases, ensuring continuous delivery of high-quality software.
• Collaboration: Partner with engineers, product managers, and QA to deliver impactful and user-focused solutions.
• Innovation and Improvement: Stay ahead of industry trends and continuously improve the functionality, reliability, and performance of Murdock.What Will Make You Successful
  • Proven iOS Expertise: 6-10+ years of professional iOS development experience, with a strong command of Swift, Objective-C, SwiftUI, modern iOS frameworks (Core Data, Combine, Core Location), and map engines and spatial frameworks (Mapbox, MapKit).
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in multithreading, concurrency (GCD, async/await), performance optimization, and iOS application lifecycle, including UI, testing (unit/integration), deployment, Git, APIs (REST, WebSocket), push notifications, cloud messaging, CI/CD, and agile workflows.
  • Deep Ownership: A firm commitment to end-to-end responsibility, from ideation to deployment and maintenance, ensuring project success and user satisfaction.
