Security Engineer with our client in Folsom, CA. If you meet the

Job Summary
-
- This person will support, implement and maintain security
focused enterprise information infrastructure. Work with enterprise
user groups to assess their security posture and compile security
requirements
- Define information security procedures, processes,
policies, standards, ensure they are communicated appropriately,
and assist in enforcement. Identifies designs and recommends
improvements to enterprise security policies, procedures,
standards, and guidelines.
- Lead the review and analysis of business risks and
creation of security requirements and controls in the areas of
network, mainframe, distributed systems and UNIX. Assist groups
responsible for enterprise systems in preventing and if need be in
correcting security vulnerabilities to bring systems into
compliance with standards
- Troubleshooting security related issues and ensure
accurate, timely, and thorough processing of security requests
submitted by users and Helpdesk support staff as required. Perform
proof of concept testing and validation information security
designs in coordination with the Enterprise Security
Architect.

- Provides on-site support for security changes when
necessary and also support other work group changes as required.
Resolves most complex Incident Reports assigned to the department
or escalated within the security group to the clients'
satisfaction
- Assist in the analysis of security violation reports,
CERTS, and security alerts for suspicious activities. Leads the
security audit processes in coordination with Internal Audit as the
security group representative
- Keeps management informed of efforts which impact the
Enterprise or client security and provides incident management
support when required. Provides regular status and ensures
that security issues are raised in a timely fashion
- Assist in improving awareness of existing and new
security vulnerabilities. Key member of the Security Awareness
program to evangelize the security message within the
enterprise
- Resolves the most complex Incident Requests assigned to
the Security Group or escalated within the Security Group, leads
complex large security projects as assigned by Senior
Management
Qualifications
-
- Work Experience - Seven plus years minimum experience,
including at least five years as a Senior level security member of
a large organization managing and/or designing large scale security
architecture.
- Very experienced in network security, demonstrated
knowledge of application layer security API's and protocols such as
SSL, Kerberos. Demonstrated knowledge of firewalls, routing,
switching, IDS/IPS authentication and authorization
systems.
- Five plus years of experience with Intrusion Detection
and/or prevention systems. Experience with wireless security
mechanisms and technologies.
- Education - College Degree in Computer Science,
Engineering, related field or equivalent experience. Any of the
following certifications CISSP, CSSA, CCSP, CISA are
desired.
- Written & Verbal Skills - Strong verbal and written
communication skills, with the ability to prepare various forms of
reports, correspondence and presentations.
- Leadership skills, process and procedure oriented in a
large service provider organization, with proven experience
handling confidential information in a professional
manner.
- Security - Knowledge of ISO 17799, NIST, COBIT, ITIL,
L2/L3 firewalls, routing, switching, IDS/IPS, sniffers, SNORT,
anti-virus, Spyware/Malware, IPsec, SSL. Knowledge of the following
are also desired, Web development background is ideal experience
using web proxy, experience with tools like WebInspector or AppScan
and familiarity with OWASP frame work.
- Understanding of security principles in a large
organization is required. Experienced in the development and
implementation of security policies is required.
- Microsoft Project - ability to create and update project
plans, status reports; presentations and the ability to create
timesheets.
- Personal characteristics - Goal and results oriented,
high energy and self-motivated. Integrity, honesty, strong
interpersonal capabilities and high-energy orientation.
Dedicated team player. Able to work in a fast-paced,
high-pressure environment and lead junior staff as
required.
