Job Description:
OverviewThis is a fulltime position that splits time between the
Clinical Quality Assurance department (it's roughly 10 hours per
week in Clinical QA) and working on the Assessment team. The person
who fills this role will perform the duties of the Clinical QA
Specialist and the Assessor.Pay range - $88k/yr -
$92k/yrResponsibilities
- Schedules and conducts multiple assessment appointments with
families both in home and in the community. Utilizes evidence-based
ABA assessment techniques. Evaluates participants referred by the
funding source for services along the parameters of an Autism
Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis.
- Reviews treatment overview, processes, and expectations with
the family. Keeps the assessment team updated regarding delays and
scheduling issues. Prepares and submits final ABA assessment report
using approved case specific templates.
- Ensures reports are submitted on time each month. Tracks and
submits mileage through existing scheduling system. Documents
appointments and administrative time in MyEvolv as directed by the
assessment team. Protects participant confidentiality by purging
files consistent with HIPAA guidelines.
- Stays abreast of ABA assessment and evaluation techniques and
tools via ongoing training.
- Within the designated Service line, ABA Assessors perform other
duties and activities that support the service line goals and
initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsEDUCATION:
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a
concentration in psychology/early childhood education or closely
related field.
- Must possess and maintain a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
(BCBA) certification.
- Must possess and maintain current CPR certification.EXPERIENCE:
- Typically requires 3-5 years' experience working with children
with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in a multi-disciplinary team
setting; or the equivalent years of training and experience to gain
the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the
essential responsibilities of the position.
- For associates under the Training department some previous
experience in coaching, mentoring or training is
preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Expertise in approaches to intervention and assessment based on
the science of Applied Behavior Analysis; competent in employing
and directing behavior analytic methodologies. Excellent clinical,
administrative, time management and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized and with great attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written
skills, and to work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and
groups.
- Must demonstrate knowledge and physical competency in a formal
behavior management safety course (e.g., Quality Behavioral
Solutions) provided through ESSC or an approved affiliate.
- Must possess basic computer skills and proficiency with
Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Microsoft Teams, Word,
Outlook, Excel, etc.). Must be able to learn and use an iPad and/or
other assigned devices.
- Ability to maintain positive consumer interaction and
professionalism, communicate effectively through oral and written
skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and
groups; demonstrated ability to interact well with participants,
their families, and to maintain positive and cordial demeanor.
- Ability to interpret and implement ESSC policies, procedures,
and regulations.
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment, exercise discretion, and
maintain a high level of confidentiality in handling sensitive
situations and documentation.
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and a TB
test.
- Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive
titer showing immunity. A signed declination may be acceptable for
certain vaccinations.
- Ability to travel locally with incumbent's own reliable
transportation; maintain driving record in compliance with
Transportation Safety Standards; maintain auto insurance and
vehicle registration.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint
clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of
Investigation, per Easterseals of Southern California and/or
program requirements.
- The position requires frequent bending, reaching, squatting,
kneeling, and twisting in order to observe, assess, and interact
with participants.
- Frequent speaking, listening to clients, staff, and other
professionals in meetings and on the telephone.
- Walking, bending, sitting on the floor for extended period of
time, and using upper and lower limbs to drive automobile to and
from home visits and meetings.
- Sitting and maintaining close visual attention to write reports
and work at a computer.
- Lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading toys and materials
used for home visits.
- Must pass all drug testing required by ESSC.PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ADA:
- Carrying/Lifting: Frequent / 0-30 lbs.
- Standing: Frequent
- Sitting: Constant
- Walking: Occasional
- Travel: Up to 50% of time
- Repetitive Motion: Keyboard activity, telephone use, writing,
bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling and twisting
- Visual Acuity: Ability to view computer monitor and read
newsprint
- Environmental Exposure: Frequent unpleasant or hazardous
working conditions (e.g., noise, yelling, dust, bodily fluids,
etc.)
