Job Description:
New Door Ventures is an early intervention employment and
education program for high-potential transition-age youth (TAY)
ages 16-24 who reside in Bay Area communities facing elevated
levels of youth disconnection, socioeconomic challenges, and
community stress.Founded in 1981, New Door Ventures was born out of
the belief that by providing resources for youth to build
foundational education and job skills, personal support,
mentorship, and pathways to higher education and career
opportunities, these young people can experience greater success in
adulthood. Our strategies provide educational and economic mobility
for TAY facing significant barriers to obtaining and retaining
unsubsidized employment, empowering youth to make successful
transitions to adulthoods marked by economic independence and
engagement with their community.Since 2005, we have served over
5,000 TAY and directly employed over 2,700 through our workforce
readiness programs with demonstrable long-term impact. According to
California's Employment Development Department (EDD), 74% of our
program graduates are employed 3 years after program exit -
significantly higher than youth who began but did not complete the
program (52%) and all California youth ages 16-24 (40%). EDD wage
data also demonstrates that youth who completed our program have
higher average annual earnings of 40% one year after program
completion and 200% two years after program completion than the
year prior to entering the program.We are currently hiring a
Community Engagement Manager to serve our Development team.About
the Opportunity:New Door seeks an individual who wants to use their
entrepreneurial and strategic mindset to grow and activate our
volunteers and corporate partners' community. The Community
Engagement Manager (CEM) will be pivotal in fostering relationships
between New Door and the external community, which will include
identifying, cultivating, and stewarding new and existing
relationships. The CEM is responsible for curating interactive
opportunities to engage volunteers and New Door interns in building
social capital and marketable job skills. In addition to managing
volunteer opportunities, this role will be expected to create New
Door's corporate and community engagement strategy to support the
annual goals and organizational priorities.This non-exempt role is
primarily on-site at New Door's San Francisco location. Given the
responsibilities of this position and our various sites, the
individual will be traveling across the Bay Area to support
community events and presentations; access to a car and a clean
driving record is preferred. New Door Ventures employs a hybrid
work location policy, with a 3:2 office/remote cadence. The CEM
will have a permanent desk at New Door's spacious three-story
building in the Mission District of San Francisco, which is a
comfortable, welcoming space, equipped to keep staff and clients
protected from transmission of infectious disease. Office space is
open-plan and shared with a collaborative, respectful team.Who

and external community to successfully manage volunteer
opportunities and deadlines.

priorities. You collaborate to develop and ensure volunteer
opportunities align with program priorities. You can quickly gain
trust from team members and potential and existing volunteers to
build long-standing relationships.

needs and expansion goals while meeting day-to-day
responsibilities. You create strategic long-term plans to engage,
secure, and retain volunteers to support New Door's growth.

Responsibilities:Corporate Engagement - 35%
- Coordinate with the Director of Development to create and
execute an annual strategy to engage corporate and community in
volunteer opportunities.
- Build, maintain, and expand relationships with the external
community that align with New Door's strategic priorities and
program needs.
- Work closely with the Institutional Giving Manager(s) to
implement opportunities associated with sponsorship and grant
deliverables.Community Outreach - 30%
- Serve as liaison and represent New Door at community meetings,
presentations, and new outreach activities to create new volunteer
engagement.
- Develop and manage social media content to raise awareness of
events and volunteer opportunities.
- Work closely with the Communications Manager to execute a
communications strategy that engages and recognizes the external
community.Volunteer and Event Management - 35%
- Envision, create, and implement an engaging volunteer program
that is both beneficial and meaningful to our internal and external
community.
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit, vet, and train
volunteers with the right skills to match the New Door program
needs and strategic goals.
- Maintain accurate volunteer data in Salesforce to track
volunteer service hours and relationships.
- Plan, organize, and execute community events such as volunteer
workshops, the annual Link Up, and appreciation mixer.
- Support in the planning and execution of the annual fundraiser:
Glow Up Awards.Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- The equivalent of, or a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a
related area to social services.
- 3-4+ years' experience in volunteer and corporate engagement,
preferably in youth employment program settings.
- Knowledge of volunteer engagement and corporate landscape.
- Familiarity with the communities New Door delivers
programming.
- Inspirational leader who has exceptional interpersonal and
relationship-building skills.
- An organized and strategic thinker comfortable with oversight
and project management and pays high attention to detail.
- Exceptional organizational, event planning, and project
management skills.
- A self-starter with capacity to successfully work independently
and as a team.
- Competency in appropriate computer and reporting systems
including Windows operating system, Microsoft Office Suite, and
Outlook (Salesforce knowledge a plus).Compensation:The Community
Engagement Manager will earn between $75,800.00 and $81,988.00
annually dependent on experience. Compensation is reviewed
annually. New Door offers a generous benefits package including
