today.Position Specific DescriptionUnder the direction of the
Executive Director, the Director, Regulatory Affairs plays a
critical role in advancing NextEra's legislative and regulatory
strategies in the Western region. This role ensures regulatory and
legislative outcomes reflect and support NextEra's commitment to
delivering innovative generation and transmission solutions that
enable a carbon-free future.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engagement with state regulators, industry partners, trade
associations, and local governments to build and sustain productive
relationships.
- Leverage existing relationships and decision-making expertise
to influence outcomes and contribute to the company's success.
- Collaborate with consultants and internal teams to analyze
existing and proposed laws and regulations.
- Serve as the primary liaison for regulatory and legislative
affairs, coordinating with internal stakeholders to align
strategies and priorities.Location/Travel:This role involves
extensive travel across the Western region, ranging from 50% to 75%
at times. To maximize efficiency and foster relationship-building,
candidates may work remotely from the Western region.Ideal
Candidate Profile:
- In-depth knowledge of Western transmission markets, including
regulatory frameworks and market dynamics.
- Experience or education in the electric utility industry,
regulatory processes, law, or policy.
- Direct experience working with legislators or legislative
bodies.
- A proven ability to work collaboratively in team environments
to navigate and resolve complex challenges.Job OverviewEmployees in
this role directly support management and development through
representation of our company's interests in regulatory bodies,
regional transmission and planning organizations and legislatures
and members of the executive branch of state governments in the
United States and provinces in Canada.Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Participates in stakeholder processes, regulatory bodies,
and/or regional organizations.
- Formulates company strategies internally for communication in
the marketplace.
- Completes long-range strategic planning.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Required

- Master's - Business AdministrationThe estimated base pay for
this position is $161,600.00 to $242,400.00 per year. Starting pay
will be based on several factors including, but not limited to,
experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and
