2024 Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit
corporation which serves as an auxiliary organization of California
State University, Sacramento, providing employment to 55 full-time
and over 350 part-time staff who deliver a wide range of programs
and services to the 30,000 students of Sacramento State. The campus
reflects the diversity of the Sacramento region and is both a
Hispanic-Serving Institution and Asian American Native American
Pacific Islander-Serving Institution. ASI employees are not state
employees; however ASI does offer a generous holiday schedule, paid
vacation, sick, and personal leave, as well as, employer paid
medical, dental, life and long term disability insurance benefits
for employee only coverage and employer contributions to employee
family coverage. Upon meeting the eligibility requirements, ASI

(non-PERS).SUMMARY: Under the authority of and within the policies
set by the Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Board of Directors, and
in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws as
well as the policies and regulations of the California State
University system and the campus, the Executive Director is the top
executive professional position responsible for the administrative,
fiscal and programmatic operations of Associated Students. This
position directly reports to the Board of Directors and is
responsible for supporting its members in carrying out both their
corporate and student government responsibilities, including the
implementation of their Board approved priorities, policies, and
budget. The Executive Director assumes full responsibility for the
leadership and oversight of the entire organization.ESSENTIAL
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Serve as primary advisor to the Board of
Directors by ensuring compliance with Federal, State, University,
and organizational regulations. Assist the Board in planning,
developing, and implementing their annual priorities; and present
annual departmental strategic priorities for board review and
approval. Provide and promote leadership development opportunities
for the Board. Facilitate the relationship between the Board and
the staff.Direct staff on program and fiscal matters, including
compliance with ASI, campus and CSU policies and procedures as well
as applicable state and federal regulations. Ensure that ASI's
financial and legal interests are safeguarded.Authorize hiring and
termination of all full-time staff. Exercise direct supervision of
all department directors including the Director of Finance. Provide
leadership, direction and guidance to ASI management and staff
members throughout the year.Provide programmatic oversight by
coordinating, developing, and implementing new policy and procedure
with Department Directors' input and Board of Directors' approval.
Per ASI Operating Rules, ensure each Department Director presents a
strategic plan to the Board with semesterly follow-up reports
meeting all established deadlines.Assist and advise, with the
Director of Finance, the Finance and Budget Committee in the
development of the annual corporate budget. This includes
preparation of future budgets, monitoring the current budget,
meeting established goals and deadlines, and advising the Committee
and the Board of budget related issues. Ensure that the budget is
presented to the University for President's approval and is fully
implemented as approved.Provide oversight for assessment and
continuing improvements relating to ASI programs and services and
preparation of the ASI Annual Report.Provide, with the Director of
Finance, oversight on the administration of all funds held by ASI
for others, i.e. Instructionally Related Activities (IRA) fund, as
contracted to ASI by the University, trust funds for registered
student clubs and organizations as delegated to ASI by the
University, and State Hornet (student newspaper) fund per ASI-State
Hornet Memorandum of Understanding.Act as the authorized agent to
negotiate, sign and implement all contracts for the organization as
authorized by the Board. This means ensuring that all contractual
obligations are met including appropriate levels of insurance,
timely payment and other terms.Serve as an advisory, non-voting
member of the ASI Board of Directors and on other ASI standing
committees as prescribed in the ASI Operating Rules and/or appoint
designees, as needed.Serve as primary liaison with the University
and the community. May serve on campus committees as well as
associations at the System wide and higher education levels.Develop
strong, positive working relationship with Student Affairs in
particular, which includes participation in leadership staff
meetings.Perform other duties relating to the overall mission of
