Job Description:

DSTNC is looking for an eCommerce Product Writer to join our team on a contractual basis, focusing on all-things product - from site descriptions to concise content on fit, product composition, and technical usage. This role extends to contributing across all platforms, from social media to our website and email campaigns. Additionally, the writer will play a pivotal role in optimizing content for SEO to drive website traffic and increase conversions. Ideal candidates are passionate and have a deep understanding of cycling, endurance sports, and the ability to craft engaging content.Responsibilities:

• Write product descriptions (including naming and details) for a range of technical gear and endurance-related products, primarily in cycling but also in running, skiing, climbing, and more. This includes apparel, helmets, sunglasses, shoes, accessories, bike computers, smartwatches, and other items.
• Understand product specifications and unique selling points, conduct thorough research when necessary.
• Assist in developing copy for promotional campaigns, emails, and social media.
• Brainstorm, collaborate, and build relationships with the copy, creative, product, and marketing teams.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly to all levels of cyclists, while maintaining consistency in tone, style, and branding across all written content.
• Optimize product descriptions and website content for search engines using relevant keywords and SEO best practices.
• Enhance product descriptions with relevant meta fields for clarity and easy navigation.
• Ensure high standards of quality control and accuracy.
• Meet deadlines, capacity, and quality targets.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute creative ideas.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new product releases, and advancements in cycling and endurance sports technology.Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a creative copywriter in fashion, athletics, or related fields.
  • Proven experience as an eCommerce writer, preferably in cycling and endurance sports.
  • In-depth knowledge of cycling and endurance sports, including performance clothing and equipment, and understanding of cycling mechanics.
  • Exceptional writing skills with attention to detail and ability to adapt content for various audiences and platforms.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and experience in optimizing content for search engines.
  • Strong research skills to simplify technical information into engaging content.
  • Excellent organization and time-management abilities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficiency in content management systems like Shopify or WordPress; basic HTML/CSS knowledge is a plus.
  • Familiarity with fashion trends and garment construction, plus understanding of sewing anatomy, is advantageous.
